Victoria Monét Gets ‘Juicy’ & Announces ‘Frequency Of Love Tour’

Victoria Monét already has us tuned into her upcoming album Frequency Of Love thanks to the set’s lead singles “Let Me” and “Reach Out.” Now, as she’s gearing up for the October release of the album, she’s tantalizing her fans with the release of the LP’s next single “Juicy.”

Victoria once again works with producer and frequent collaborator D’Mile, who also brings on Spencer Stewart and Michael Brun, to create the romantic, guitar-driven ballad. The lovey-dovey vibes reverberate throughout, with the song reminding us of several lovely pop/R&B tracks from the ’80s and ’90s that focused on the groove as much as the romance.

The singer’s vocal delivery seems to nod to SWV’s Waiting To Exhale soundtrack cut “All Night Long” on the verses (which might speak to why Babyface is one of the credited writers on the song). But the chorus takes things up a notch as she imagines what the kiss of a potential lover would feel like on hers.

“Even though we haven’t even kissed / I can’t wait to see how your lips feel, been fantasizing (On me) / So what you gon’ do about it? (So good) / You know that I like it (Juicy),” she sings. “When you get real close to me (Pillow) / If love is in alignment (So deep) / Then don’t waste no time about it / (Please don’t) When I get excited / (Tease me) Like na-na-na-na-na-na.”

Another juicy development is Victoria’s Frequency Of Love Tour. The just-announced outing will take her across North America as she spreads her talents to audiences in the US and Canada. The journey kicks off on October 27th in Raleigh, North Carolina and moves through several major markets — including Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, New York, D.C., Las Vegas and Seattle — before wrapping in San Francisco just before Christmas on December 17th.
