Stevie Wonder’s iconic album Songs In The Key Of Life turns 50 this month, and he’s taking the golden jubilee worldwide to a concert stage near you. Wonder has announced his Songs In The Key Of Life Performances 50th Anniversary Tour. The 76-year-old living legend isn’t making his adoring public wait, with the tour set to begin in a few weeks and run throughout fall.
Beginning on October 13th, Stevie will kick off the 17-city, 18-date run across the pond in Birmingham, UK. From there, he’ll move on to numerous cities across Europe and the UK, including Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dublin, London and Glasgow. He’ll take a few days off before beginning the US leg of the tour on November 19th in New York City. Stateside shows are scheduled in Chicago, D.C. and Detroit, where he’ll perform two hometown concerts. The tour will then wrap in Los Angeles on December 19th.
Though the tour ends right before the holidays, seeing Stevie Wonder live in concert again will truly be the biggest gift music lovers receive this year.
The Songs In The Key Of Life Performances 50th Anniversary Tour follows his similarly named 2014 Songs In the Key of Life Performance Tour that was so popular it got extended twice and ran through the end of 2015. With that tour’s track record, we suspect that this 50th anniversary edition will also get more dates and cities added to the itinerary.
We certainly hope that additional shows are planned for the Songs In The Key Of Life Performances 50th Anniversary Tour, as several dates are already sold out. Any available tickets can be found via Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
