Chlöe is a busy, busy young woman. Since the release of her joint mixtape with Timbaland RESURRECTION in June, the singer has been hellbent on giving us a visual for each of the project’s 13 tracks. She’s also continued her collaborations with her musical peers. Most recently, she pulled double duty with the release of a visual for RESURRECTION closer “Jittery” and a new collaboration with producer Clean Bandit and Nigerian singer Omah Lay called “Company.”
The visual for "Jittery" is a dance-heavy affair just like her clip for “World On Fire.” This time, though, she’s looking to her mentor and label boss Beyoncé’s video for “Ego” for inspiration. Like Bey in "Ego," Chlöe dons a curly Afro wig for the black-and-white clip and gets two dancers to move alongside her. The trio works it to the song’s drum-heavy beat with graceful moves that also offer a bit of sexiness. The visual is quite striking as she adds her own spin while paying homage to her boss lady.
“Company” is a bit of a switch-up from “Jittery.” The track takes the tropical house sound that was all the rage a few years back and mixes in Afrobeats to keep it fresh. But Chlöe makes it even fresher as she infuses a pop sensibility into the song as she lets a beau know that she needs some quality time and his hands on her body. Omah Lay plays off her sexy energy on his verse as he lets her know that he needs her just as much as she wants him.
The “Company” visual is another choreography-heavy affair for Chlöe as she takes a troupe of dancers through the motions in various places in an industrial setting. The performer, ever the chameleon in cascading blonde braids and a white leotard and tights, looks like an ethereal vision in the clip. Omah Lay, meanwhile, skips the dancing but gets style points for a chic-yet-casual ’fit that oozes cool as he delivers a captivating performance.
If you’re a fan of Chlöe like we are, then you should be feeling mighty blessed right now. But something tells us that the singer isn’t done with us yet as she continues to build momentum.
