Rochelle Jordan ended last year on a high with the release of her amazing album Through The Wall and her ongoing sold-out Through The Wall Tour. The project not only exposed her to an even larger audience than her previous sets, but it also showed her expanding her sound even further as she staked her claim in dance music. Now Rochelle is ready to give us even more with a five-EP series of remixes, entitled Disc 1-5, set to be released over the next few months. She teases what’s to come with a remix of the album cut “I’m Your Muse” reimagined by famed producer Ron Trent.
The original song offered a hypnotic, delightful slice of downtempo house that allowed RoJo to talk her ish about her underground influence while making us move. Ron Trent picks that up and flips it in a whole new direction. Fresh synths, new drum programming and flips of the song’s established vocals. The remix extends the song’s vibe and length, giving us a satisfying, nearly eight-minute spin on the dance floor.
“The Ron Trent ‘I’m Your Muse’ remix is the epitome of what summer sounds and feels like to me, with its fresh and exhilarating sound,” Rochelle said in a press release. “You can’t escape the jaws of this vibe once you’ve pressed play. I’m excited to release this one and so grateful to this legend for painting a new perspective on one of my favorite tracks on Through The Wall. This is another classic.”
The first installment of the remix EP series, simply titled Disc 1, is set to arrive on Friday, August 14th. In addition to the “I’m Your Muse” remix, the set will include remixes from Honey Dijon, Halogenix and Rochelle Jordan’s longtime collaborator KLSH. That wrecking crew of producers will get their hands on “Get It Off,” another version of “I’m Your Muse” and “Ladida,” respectively. The remaining entries in the series — Disc 2, Disc 3, Disc 4 and Disc 5 — will be released in order every month through December.
