Though she’s already marked 50 years in the entertainment business, 2026 marks 40 years since the release of her breakthrough album Control. The set not only acted as her official musical coming-out party, but it also catapulted her to the top of the charts and earned her a spot in the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. Janet is now ready to receive her flowers and, to commemorate the moment and her control of the charts over the past 40 years, the icon is doing it big by partnering with Airtab Music to present Janet Jackson: CONTROL 40 — The Airtab Music Movie, a concert film that will be recorded this December.
Though Control might be the catalyst, Janet can’t — and won’t — deny her outstanding catalog of hits throughout the decades. That means that we’re in for an absolute treat as she takes us on a trip down memory lane with cuts like “If,” “Nasty,” “I Get Lonely,” “All For You,” “So Excited,” “Feedback,” “No Sleep” and more.
The filming will take place on December 12th in Sunrise, Florida at Amerant Bank Arena and will be helmed by famed director Leslie Small. It promises to include a multi-camera setup and exclusive behind-the-scenes access that will show us the process of bringing the show to the fans. Speaking of which, those who want to be in attendance for the taping can grab tickets to the show starting on Thursday, August 20th. After the concert is filmed, it will head to theaters first and then land on streaming services, though the dates for either of those releases have yet to be revealed.
