Ari Lennox may have ended her Vacancy Tour in June, but she’s still outside to hear her tell it on her new single “Hookah Baby.” The song, which will be included on her forthcoming deluxe set Vacancy: Late Checkout, finds Ari and her crew enjoying a night at the club that she doesn’t want to end.
“I don’t wanna leave ’cause they playin’ my song / My body, my body, my body / Shinin’ like glitter and diamonds / Said pass the hookah, baby,” Ari sings on the first verse, ready to indulge in a little shisha and stay for a while. She continues painting the scene, singing, “My girls shaking ass, and we all outside / All on ten / Telling everyone that I leave in five / I’m lying, I lied.”
Ari is having a time on “Hookah Baby.” She co-wrote the catchy track with Alivia Blue while Tommy “TBHits” Brown and Leather Jacket held down production.
“Hookah Baby” is the first listen of Vacancy: Late Checkout, the deluxe edition of her acclaimed third studio album Vacancy, which dropped in January. Lennox is keeping the deluxe’s tracklist and release date under wraps for the moment, but she lets it all hang out on the album’s cover art featuring a topless photograph of her. She strategically covers her breasts with her left arm to leave a little something to the imagination, but a blind man can see that her body is tea.
