DESTIN CONRAD jumped into yet another new genre earlier this month when he dropped his reggae-influenced cut “NERVOUS” to heat up the dancehall. The cut, our first listen to his upcoming reggae album, proved once again that the rising star can handle any genre he sets his mind on. But to prove that the track wasn’t a fluke, the singer-songwriter is back with the set’s second single, “I LOVE YOUR BODY.”
Like “NERVOUS,” “I LOVE YOUR BODY” is produced by DESTIN’s constant collaborator Louie Lastic. The producer fuses dancehall, reggae and R&B for the track, giving it a more mid-tempo feel tailor-made to make people wine their waists. Heavy hits of kick drum mingle with zooming synths that keep things moving. It’s a simple sound bed, but it’s quite hypnotizing.
Of course, DESTIN’s vocals also have a hand in that. He lustily sings of a particular body that has caught his attention. He sings of the encounter in a way that builds up the sexual tension between him and the object of his desire before he gets to the point just before the chorus, singing, “I like to get my way / And there’s something ’bout your waist / I wanna get closer to your frame / And I don’t got no time to waste.” From there, it’s on as he sings the song’s title repeatedly with a breathy exhilaration.
The song’s video is a visual treat for all bodies. Filmed in Jamaica, the clip showcases the human form. It lingers on many different bodies in various states of undress. These physiques are found both in nature and inside a club as dancers writhe and grind to the rhythm. DESTIN sits in the middle of it all holding court, and even crawling along the floor with the masses. It makes for quite the sexy visual experience while perfectly illustrating the song’s vibes.
According to an Instagram post on CONRAD’S account, it looks like the name of the new album will be ROADRUNNER, although that doesn’t appear to be official just yet. Still, we think you should stretch and get ready to wine as the latest project from DESTIN CONRAD is set to arrive soon.
