Our British girl group faves FLO are very busy as they put the finishing touches on their sophomore set Therapy At The Club. In the lead-up to the album’s release, they’ve been fairly gracious with giving us singles — with the salacious “Leak It” and the project’s title track already out in the wild. But the ladies of FLO aren’t done giving us the goods just yet as they return with the set’s third single “Don’t Break Her Heart.”
FLO’s Renée Downer, Stella Quaresma and Jorja Douglas team up once again with producer Julian Bunetta and songwriter Steph Jones, who helped them get raunchy for “Leak It,” to give them something altogether different on the new single. Musically, the song sounds almost romantic with sweet synths, piano and bass riding a drum rhythm that knocks just hard enough without disturbing the groove. However, one listen to the lyrics and you’ll realize that this isn’t a love song, or at least not in the typical sense.
“Don’t Break Her Heart” is about love, but it’s more about the enduring love they have for their homegirl and her emotional state. In that regard, the girls step to her man and lay down the law. They let him know the rules of engagement and the work he should put in if he wants to stay in their good graces. But they also let him know the consequences, singing on the chorus, “If you break her heart / I will make you pay / I’ll post up on your block, know your spots / Send the mandem ’round your way / Said, if you break her heart / I will come for you / Leave my girl alone / Move along if you don't love her like I do.”
For the “Don’t Break Her Heart” visuals, the ladies take the song’s concept even further. Rather than play loyal best friends, they take on the roles of private detectives at Filthy Little Operations investigating men for the women who suspect them of toying with their affections. We watch Jorja, Renée and Stella take on a case that has them tracking a fine fella through the streets of London as he goes about his day-to-day.
The man in question has the feeling that something's afoot, but the ladies comically evade his suspicions until they’re ready to confront him with the evidence they’ve gathered. With that said and done, they sic their mandem on him, and we can only assume, make him disappear.
“Don’t Break Her Heart” is another fun track from the ladies of FLO that has us anticipating Therapy At The Club when it drops on Friday, July 24th. We’re sure that you’re going to want this one in your collection, so make sure to pre-save/pre-order the album now.
If you’re like us and can’t get enough of the track, enjoy a live performance of the cut live from BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026.
