Anderson .Paak branched off into film this year with his directorial debut in the family comedy K-Pops!, but music is never far behind for the multihyphenate. He actually played a musician in the flick, which he co-starred in with his musically-inclined son Soul Rasheed, and contributed numerous songs to the soundtrack. One such is a collaboration with Alissia on the track “Can’t Get Enough,” the latest to be released as a single from the K-Pops! soundtrack and the second single from her forthcoming debut album.
Paak meets his match in Alissia, who is also a producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and DJ. She’s behind the boards and the bass on “Can’t Get Enough” while Andy struts his stuff on vocals. The song has a sound similar to his disco-leaning Silk Sonic tracks and makes you want to bust a smooth move on the dance floor just the same. Atop the song’s groovy foundation of bass, percussion and strings, Paak sweet-talks his long-distance lover and looks forward to their next rendezvous.
“Oh, baby, when we touch (When we touch) / I just feel the rush (I just feel the rush) / Oh, baby, when we touch (When we touch) / I can’t get enough (I can’t get enough),” he sings, leaving it up to interpretation if he wants to make a move in the bedroom or on the dance floor.
Alissia and Anderson step out for a night on the town in the music video for “Can’t Get Enough.” They pull up in a taxicab to the nightclub, and he takes her hand to lead her into the spot. Once inside, they join in on the fun with the other club kids and soon become the live entertainment. She’s on bass and keys, he’s on drums and a string section completes their band. The scene looks like a modern-day Studio 54 with revelers of all races, orientations and levels of glam partying the night away with our talented leads.
Let Alissia and Anderson .Paak take you for a spin, twirl and dip when you watch them bring the fun to the function below. If you missed K-Pops! in theaters, make sure to catch the film streaming now on Netflix.
