We’ve been highly anticipating the release of The Last Balloon, the latest album from New Orleans-based outfit Tank And The Bangas, since they announced the project’s impending release with lead single “Move” featuring Lucky Daye. That cut let us know the album would be a vibe, and now that it’s arrived, that’s been confirmed. The collection lives up to the standard set by the group’s previous outings and even surpasses at different points. They’re continuing to give us what we want with a visual for “Ain’t That Deep.”

Like many of the album’s cuts, “Ain’t That Deep’ showcases frontwoman Tarriona “Tank” Ball’s skills as both a singer and rapper as she gives attitude and confidence with effortless charm. That is translated into visual form by taking us to the group’s hometown, where we’re introduced to the city’s people and culture. The clip takes us to the Uptown district, where Tank shows us the place that raised her. She strolls the block with her girls while showing off bold, colorful looks among NOLA’s bold, colorful characters (including the iconic Flagboy Giz). The video undoubtedly captures the city’s culture and spirit.

The Last Balloon has plenty more where “Ain’t That Deep” came from, with a stacked deck of tracks that offer inspiration, romance, boasts and party-starting jams that make for an unforgettable listen. From the Take 6-sampling opener “Rest,” on which Tank claims what’s hers alongside guest Shirazee to songs like “Go Your Own Way,” “Jealous” and “Nighttime,” the group’s musicality and lyricism manage to transport us to different, heartfelt places. And with Austin Brown serving as executive producer, each inclusion on the tracklist feels purposeful and allows for a cohesive experience from start to finish.

This might be the last time that Tank And The Bangas float on in their Balloon trilogy, but it signals that whatever they do next will surely take them to new heights all the same.
