Glenn Lewis is so back. One of Toronto’s finest musical exports dropped the blazing single “Past Tense” in March and promised that more music was on the way. Glenn fulfills that promise with his latest single “G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love)” and confirms the upcoming release of Overture, his long-awaited new album.
Overture is scheduled to arrive on Friday, June 19th, right on time to set Juneteenth and Black Music Month off. Glenn Lewis’ first album in almost a decade and fourth overall in his discography is shaping up to be another classic from him if these two singles are any indication. After teaming with producer Siege Monstracity to create R&B magic on “Past Tense,” the collaborators double down on “G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love).”
The title is an acronym for “Giving You All My Love,” and the song evolved from Monstracity’s similarly named 2025 single “GYAML (Giving You All My Love).” With a sound bed of drums, piano and horns, the instrumental was the perfect foundation for Lewis to build on, and the singer-songwriter is in his vocal and lyrical bag on this track.
“G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love)” is described as “a reflection on reconnection, timing and emotional clarity” on Glenn’s website, and he vividly paints a scene with his pen of old friends/flames running into each other and the sparks that fly between them. Over the thumping, head-nodding beat, his voice is butter smooth as he reminisces about what was and imagines what could be.
“Crazy seeing ya / Was wondering how you been / You stayed on my mind / Swear it’s like fate brought us back again / Hot like jalapeños / Burning, I been questioning / What happened to us, thought we was headed to more than friends,” he croons, remembering their connection and wondering what went wrong.
Glenn is ready to give things another go, though, because their chemistry is still there — and so are his feelings. He’s all in on the chorus when he melodiously sings, “I’m giving you all my love, love, love, love,” over and over again.
We don’t know where the romance depicted in “G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love)” is headed, but Glenn Lewis certainly has us weak in the knees. Stay tuned for even more heat from the cute Canadian crooner in the coming weeks. His third new single entitled “Impressions” drops on Friday, June 5th, with Overture to follow a couple of weeks later on his independent label Reimagery, Inc.
