Glenn Lewis has us counting down the days until he drops his brand-new album Overture on Friday, June 19th. We’ve been patiently waiting for the project — his first solo set since 2013’s Moment Of Truth and his fourth LP overall — and he’s gotten us open with the singles “Past Tense” and “G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love).” The latter has had us in a chokehold since its release a few days ago, and Glenn tightens his grip on our attention with a visualizer.
“G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love)” arrived with a vibrant animated lyric video featuring animation and editing by Ken Golden and Anna Keenan. They return to work some more visual magic with Glenn joining in this time around.
The official visualizer brings to life the single’s cover image of Glenn against a red background bathed in a red tint. The handsome crooner’s beautiful chocolate skin glows in shades of red as he sings and performs the track while his shadow tries to keep up with him. It’s a simple concept and clip, but the vividness of the red playing off of shades of black and gray leads to a dramatic execution.
We’re here for any opportunity to see Glenn Lewis in action — whether live or animated — and this red-hot visual for “G.Y.A.M.L. (My Love)” feeds our need. Press play below to peep Glenn, and look out for Overture’s arrival on Juneteenth.
