Elmiene’s Sounds For Someone Tour is now underway in support of his debut album sounds for someone. Though he’s in the midst of traveling city to city to entertain his North American fans, he’s still dropping new music. For his latest release, he turns to Baby Rose to transform his previously released single “Honour” into a duet.
A song about expressing vulnerability in a relationship, Elmiene bares his soul in the original lyrics. He shares his doubts and concerns and asks for understanding and respect in return.
Baby Rose listens to his plea and pushes back on her new verse. “I won’t dance around the reasons that I’m feelin’ this way / I can see through your weakness, the God you can’t face / But I can’t be the cure to your feelings, I’ve got my own scars that need healing,” she hauntingly sings, letting him know that she has pain, too, and also needs someone to trust and a soft place to land.
The pre-chorus returns, and the singers come together in agreement and harmony. “Still, we can survive, to keep you in my life, I need you to confide in me, oh,” they flawlessly sing in unison.
This is Elmiene’s latest duet, following collaborations with Leon Thomas, Muni Long and Jordan Ward. Could a duets album be in Elmiene’s future? Heck, we’ll even settle for an EP. While we add that to our musical wishlist, get into “Honour” featuring Baby Rose right here.
