ESSENCE is celebrating Women’s History Month with the announcement of the first batch of performers at the 2026 ESSENCE Festival Of Culture, featuring a lineup filled with some of our favorite women in Black Music. Each year, the highly anticipated festival takes over New Orleans with phenomenal music, delectable food and a beloved celebration of Black culture, and this year’s lineup already has us counting down to Independence Day weekend for the festivities.
Those attending can expect R&B superstars and hip-hop heavyweights to hit the Superdome stage throughout the festival’s three days. The Evening Concert Series will feature a headlining performance by recent ESSENCE cover stars, ’90s R&B icons Brandy and Monica. Bronica will bring their The Boy Is Mine Tour back to life after an exciting run last year.
Elsewhere on the R&B roster are living legend Patti LaBelle and GRAMMY Award-winning songstress Kehlani. Fans of female hip-hop will be sure to enjoy performances by rappers Cardi B and Latto, who will both be making their ESSENCE Fest debuts.
This is just the first wave of talent from the 2026 ESSENCE Festival Of Culture to be announced, but we’re already making arrangements and texting our group chats to coordinate plans. Organizers will continue to roll out more artists as we inch closer and closer to the festival scheduled for Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th. If you’re already tapped in, visit the ESSENCE Festival website to learn more about everything this year’s event has to offer, and visit Ticketmaster to get your tickets now.
