Yuna ended last year on a high note by showing off her talents with her single “if you don’t love me.” The song, which was written and produced by the singer herself, gave us a preview of what she has in store for us in 2026 on her upcoming EP The Valour Hour. Now Yuna’s offering more of the project with the release of the follow-up single “believer.”

Though “if you don’t love me” was proof of what Yuna can do all on her own, she also flourishes when she works with collaborators. “believer” showcases that as she turns to GRAMMY-winning composer Olmo Zucca, who contributed to Tyla’s chart-topping smash “Water” to produce the song. He crafts an icy, cool sound bed of synths that’s warmed up by bubbling percussion and flourishes that evoke the Afrobeats-adjacent sound of “Water” without fully diving into that territory. It’s a recipe for a sensuous, slinky groove that fits perfectly with Yuna’s vocals.

The lyrics find Yuna ready to fall in love. But before she can fully invest in what’s being offered, she needs to know what he stands for. Specifically, she wants to know if the love that’s being offered is the kind that’s lasting and not something just for one night.

“I want to go deeper / Deeper / In your mind and soul,” she sings on the chorus. “I want a believer / Believing / In something / To make us last a lifetime.”

Yuna hasn’t clarified when The Valour Hour will be released, though she has scheduled a special concert event in her native Malaysia on Saturday, February 7th to perform songs from the project alongside some old favorites. While her Malaysian fans are surely in for a treat, those of us outside of the country will have to wait a little longer to hear the project in full.

But you don’t have to wait to hear “believer,” when you can stream the track below.
