Victoria Monét has been cooking up more than tasty dishes in culinary school and planning her set for the EU/UK leg of Bruno Mars’ The Romantic Tour this summer. She’s also been whipping up new music in the studio. Now, almost three years after dropping her major label debut JAGUAR II, it appears as though her next album is hot and ready as she serves up her new single “Let Me.”

Vic is totally enamored with someone on “Let Me” and wants to pour into them and be their peace, but she only needs their permission. Produced by Camper with co-production by Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, Branden “B Mack” Rowell and Cashmere Brown, the slow jam’s instrumental features synths, guitar, finger snaps and a booming low end. Atop this solid ’80s R&B-style foundation, Monét lets her love interest know just how solid she is.

Her vocals are soft, sweet and sexy as she sings sincere lyrics with her whole heart. “Let me be your ride or die / Let me love you back to life, babe / Let me give you peace of mind / You know I’ma ride with you rain or shine,” she croons on the chorus. “If you let me be your winter coat / Let me love you through those moments / I’ll do all the things lovers do / Baby, if you let me.”

R&B purists will be happy that the song has a traditional structure, a bridge, endearing lyrics, a sticky chorus and an outro that nods to Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U.” In other words, “Let Me” is the total package and an early contender for “Best of 2026” lists.

Monét started rolling out “Let Me” with a series of seductive visualizers that were very 1980s coded. She caught our attention with her perfectly coiffed French roll, sequined silver pumps and a sheer red robe, bra and panty set that looked straight out of an old Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog. These clips may be teasers from the cut’s forthcoming official music video, but she’s holding us over with a much less provocative lyric video.

We catch up with our leading lady seated on a couch in front of a large screen. Her back is to the camera, and she’s intently watching the lyrics appear on screen while also getting into the song’s groove and moving her shoulders and arms. It’s almost like she’s watching a movie trailer before the featured attraction.
