It’s hard to believe that Bruno Mars hasn’t released an album in a decade, but the last time that we heard from him on the solo tip was 2016’s 24K Magic. He’s stayed booked and busy with several collaborations over the years, namely his side project Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak and high-profile duets with Lady Gaga, ROSÉ and Sexyy Red. Bruno is quite the team player, but he’s back on his bully with a brand-new solo album entitled The Romantic. To get the rollout rolling, he’s dropped the first single “I Just Might” with a video and announced The Romantic Tour with special guests DJ Pee .Wee, Leon Thomas, Victoria Monét and RAYE.
Bruno loves a throwback moment, and he rewinds the clock to the 1970s once again for “I Just Might,” which he co-produced with D’Mile who co-wrote it with him alongside Philip Lawrence and Brody Brown. The song actually sounds like it could be an outtake from the Silk Sonic sessions but leans more pop R&B than the soul and funk of that project.
Mars is in his loverboy element on “I Just Might” as he notices a PYT arrive at the spot. She’s piqued his interest, and he shares his desire for a little romance. Before he seals the deal, though, he’s gotta see what she’s working with on the dance floor.
“Hey, Mr. DJ (Oh, oh, oh) / Play a song for this pretty little lady (Oh, oh, oh) / ’Cause if she dance as good as she look right now (Oh, oh, oh) / I just might, I just might make her my baby,” he sings his intentions on the chorus of the catchy, upbeat tune.
He keeps the vintage vibes coming in the track’s visual set in a club with wood paneling, rust-colored shag carpet and disco lights on the ceiling. Decked out in his finest polyester three-piece suit with a butterfly collar, Bruno is the lead singer of a band full of Brunos. His clones join him to jam on guitar, bass, drums and percussion and to also cut a rug.
“I Just Might” is the first sample of The Romantic, which is on the calendar for a Friday, February 27th release. The fourth solo set in his discography will feature a tight nine songs just like 24K Magic. The album can be pre-saved on digital music platforms and physical copies may be pre-ordered from his merch store where limited-edition vinyl, CD and cassette options are currently on sale.
Bruno’s new music is ready for the world, and he’s ready to tour it on The Romantic Tour. The outing will be his first international stadium tour, and he’s bringing Anderson .Paak, who’ll be performing as his alter ego DJ Pee .Wee, along for the full ride. Dividing up opening act duties will be Leon Thomas through May, Victoria Monét overseas in June and July and RAYE from August to October.

Subsequent stops include Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, Chicago and Toronto before Mars hops across the Atlantic Ocean. He’ll perform shows in Europe and the UK in June and July before returning stateside in August. Additional performances in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Tampa, New Orleans, Miami and San Antonio will follow before the 32-city, 38-date tour ends in Vancouver on October 14th.
