Our boy Otis Kane is back on the block and ready to give us what we want. Next month, he’ll drop his new EP Love Is Alive for our listening pleasure. We’re sure that, just like his other releases, the project will be nothing but quality. But in case we had any doubt, the singer-songwriter reassures us with the set’s new single “Whatever You Like.”
“Whatever You Like” is a simple and sexy ditty that finds Otis waxing romantic as he offers to do whatever his lover asks. The track slides through with a warm, thick bass line that sets the tone for what’s to come. Adorning it are guitar, haunting backing vocals, twinkling keys and a steady drum rhythm that propels things forward.
Though the groove is sexy as all get it out, Otis isn’t in a rush to get it on in the song’s lyrics. In fact, he says just that at one point while letting it be known that “burning slow means burning better.” He then seals the deal by speaking about the future on the song’s chorus.
“One night only isn’t in my nature / I ain’t one to take you for a ride,” he promises. “Darling something ‘bout you smiling says / Forever but I’ll do whatever you like.”
He might not be in a rush, but we can’t wait to hear what Otis is bring on his new EP, which is available to pre-save now. Taking to Instagram, he teased his fans that the collection would be made up of things old and new. “I’m very excited to share this body of work, there are few songs on it that you already love and a few new jams that I think you’ll enjoy,” he wrote.
