Ari Lennox has been revving things up lately. The singer is ready to step into her next era with the announcement of her upcoming album Vacancy. The set already got a preview when she dropped the teaser “Soft Girl Era” and the album’s title track as the lead single. She’s quickly following that up with the new track “Under The Moon.”
Lennox’s latest might be the perfect R&B cut for the spooky season we’re currently approaching. Incorporating a bit of doo wop vibes into the mix, piano, guitar and throwback harmonies, Ari uses the track to tell us about a beau whose animal instincts are enough to have her howling at the moon. It’s no coincidence that the situation has her comparing this hot, cool and vicious fella to a werewolf in the lyrics.
“Under the moon with you / So majestic, f**king vicious / Like a werewolf when you’re in it,” she sings on the chorus. “Under the moon, ah-ooh / I’m addicted, so horrific / And you kill it, and you murder, oh.” The animalistic encounter she describes is enough to make us clutch our pearls. But it’s also perked up our ears as the singer is in fine form.
With Ari ready to bring her R&B stylings to us for a third outing, we can’t wait to hear what Vacancy will have in store for us. We won’t have to wait very long, either, as the set will arrive on Friday, January 23, 2026.
