It’s release day for our favorite elusive chanteuse Mariah Carey! The legendary vocalist is back with her 16th studio album Here For It All, much to the delight of her fans everywhere. The album's lead-up promo tour has been epic, with the singer riding the viral success of singles “Type Dangerous” and “Sugar Sweet” and sharing tidbits about her life and career in various interviews. But now that the album’s here for all to enjoy, she’s dropped a video for the Anderson .Paak-featuring “Play This Song.”

The song, a ballad with a throwback feel reminiscent of Anderson’s Silk Sonic side project with Bruno Mars, captures the rumored lovebirds in fine form. With guitar, piano, horns and strings riding along the groove alongside their voices, the twosome sings about a breakup from different sides of the story. They alternate verses as they each project what they think the other might be going through while expressing their own hurt.

The song’s black-and-white video furthers the story. The pair looks damn good in complementary fashions as they lounge around a luxurious mansion. Despite the sorrowful subject matter, though, the duo is mostly all smiles as they touch and embrace with an undeniable chemistry. If the rumors are indeed just rumors, then this video will do nothing to quell them.

“Play This Song” is one of the 11 cuts featured on Here For It All. The set shows Mariah stepping into this new phase of life with a renewed sense of confidence and vulnerability. We get self-assured and bossy cuts like album opener “Mi,” “Type Dangerous,” “Confetti & Champagne” and the boogie-infused jam “I Won’t Allow It.”

Those are balanced by the heartfelt sentiment on a few cuts, most notably the album closer and title track “Here For It All.” On it, she sings of being there for her lover through darkness and light, declaring on the chorus, “And baby, I’m here for it all / The glory, the shakes, and withdrawals / Even when you bounce off the walls / And baby, I’m here for it all / I’m herе for the clouds in your eyes / A kiss whеre the sun never shines / And I won’t let you break when you fall / Baby, I’m here for it all.”

Though she might not be in the midst of her ’90s heyday, Mariah Carey proves that she’s still got the magic we fell in love with more than 30 years ago. Stream the album in full below.
