Husband and wife duo Kindred The Family Soul have long been relationship goals. We’ve admired the couple’s love for each other and dedication to their family of six children, all while maintaining a thriving career as recording artists over the past two decades. Fatin Dantzler and Aja Dantzler’s family has since grown with the addition of two grandkids that they’re totally enamored with. They’ve embraced this new chapter, which has also sparked their creativity. Fans will get to hear their latest life soundtrack on their forthcoming new album GRANDLIFE.
GRANDLIFE will be Kindred The Family Soul’s eighth studio album and their third independent release. The project is scheduled to arrive on Friday, October 3rd, and Aja and Fatin are officially beginning the rollout after dropping the lead single “I Need You” earlier this year.
In addition to Kindred’s superb cover of that Maze featuring Frankie Beverly rare groove, GRANDLIFE will feature seven more songs. The tracklist includes intriguing titles such as “I’m The One,” “So Softly” and “Zenith/Reverie” and a guest appearance from Tarriona “Tank” Ball, frontwoman of Tank and the Bangas, on the track “I Knew It.” Fatin and Aja also enlisted a handful of producers to bring the album to fruition.
“We were blessed to work with Vidal Davis, Shawn Hibbler, Jarius “J.Mo” Mozee, Harry Hunt and Sean Boyd — each adding something beautiful to this journey,” Fatin shared with us about their production team. Aja added, “We have created a synergy in production between the last two albums and this one. Solidifying the sound of our independent era of recording. Vidal Davis has been a big part of developing that sound with us.”
Aja expounded on the project. “We went in the studio with no expectations and just wanted to see what we would make. It poured out of us quickly, like it was waiting on us to be made,” she said about the ease with which the music flowed. “Becoming Grandparents marked so many changes and challenges, and we feel so much more at peace. This album expresses that. This is some of my favorite music that we've done.”
“We’re so grateful for the chance to keep creating music that speaks to love and life,” Fatin stated. “This album is truly the most intentional work we’ve ever done, and we give all glory to God for the inspiration.”
It sounds to us like Kindred The Family Soul has another masterpiece in the making. We’ll find out when GRANDLIFE is released in a few weeks. The lovebirds will be releasing the album’s second single “For Life” on Friday, September 19th, right on time to celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary.
