DUCKWRTH brought all the rockstar vibes this year when he dropped his latest album All American F*ckboy earlier this year. The performer is currently on the road for his All American Freak Show Tour in support of the effort and wowing crowds in the process. If you happened to snag tickets to the shows (or you’ve seen him in concert in the past four years), then you’ve probably seen him perform one particularly raucous unreleased track that really gets the people going. That song is called “Wyl’ Out” and it’s now finally available for the masses.
“Wyl’ Out” is a call to arms to the general concert-going public content with standing still when they should be turning up at shows. The urgency of the song is expressed through buzzing electric guitar, vibrating 808s, frenetic drums and high-pitched synths pushed to their limit. It all comes together to sound like a party at the end of the world with DUCKWRTH in control of the aux.
The rapper/singer further inflames the song’s message with lyrics dismissing any excuse that concertgoers might have for not act a f**king fool. He’s a man on a mission and ready to blow on the verses, but he gets very precise on the chorus, softly commanding, “Put your phone away / F**k your Instagram / Oh, you blowin’ up? / B***h, I don’t give a damn.”
However, that’s no match for the incendiary chorus, as he demands your full participation. “You are in no position to be calm,” he challenges. “Would you stand that still if I had a bomb? / You are in no position to be calm / Hmm, I’ma need you to wild out!”
As previously mentioned, DUCKWRTH is at the beginning of his All American Freak Show Tour. The jaunt, which kicked off on September 3rd, will have him in North America through the beginning of October before resuming in Europe from the end of November through December 15th. For dates and ticket information, you can hit up his website.
But before you do that, prepare yourself for all the vibes when you listen to “Wyl’ Out” below.
