Fantasia took us to church earlier this year when she debuted her gospel song “Have Your Way” on the American Idol season 23 finale. Now she’s joining fellow Carolina native 803Fresh on the trail ride for the remix to his viral smash “Boots On The Ground.”
The remix keeps the party jumping and the fans clacking. 803Fresh begins the song as usual and asks the important question “Where them fans at?” before rolling out the red carpet for his guest. Fantasia comes through and sets it off with a fresh new verse.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah / I’m ’bout to hit the street with my girls, it’s time to get loose (get loose) / Hanging out til the moon peak like my cheeks hanging outta them (hanging outta them dukes),” Tasia belts with her boots on and booty out. Later in the verse, she makes it clear that, “I’m here for a good time not a long time, baby / I might be late but I’m always on time, baby / Gotta back it up and let them know that it’s real.”
After Fantasia kicks up some dust, 803Fresh steps back up to the mic to pick up where he left off. She rejoins him on the outro with some of her signature soulful wails.
“This remix is Carolina Soul at its strongest,” 803Fresh boasted about this updated version via press release. “Fantasia brought a whole new level of energy, passion, and fire to the track. It’s an anthem for the people, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to help me take it there.”
Fantasia was equally as complimentary about 803Fresh’s hit anthem in her press statement. “The moment I heard ‘Boots On The Ground’ I knew it was special,” she said. “Performing it with 803 felt like a full-circle moment — two Carolina voices representing where we’re from and taking it to the world.”
