Coco Jones is in her zone. The GRAMMY Award winner released her debut album Why Not More? in April, before setting off to headline her Why Not More? Tour the following month. Now she’s in the midst of her Hot Coco Summer, one that saw the R&B starlet get engaged to her boyfriend, NBA baller Donovan Mitchell. Before she enters her wife era, Coco extends the life of Why Not More? with a deluxe edition entitled Why Not More? (MORE!) that’s packed with extras.
The deluxe features the addition of eight new tracks, like the flirty, sexy, cool songs “Control Freak,” “Love So Big” and “Passport.” Included on the super-sized set are a trio of collaborations: her tour mate Lady London joining her on “Is It Mine,” the remix to “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” featuring Leon Thomas and her dream collab with Alicia Keys for “Other Side Of Love (Remix).”
The remix to “Other Side Of Love” elevates the track from a heartfelt ballad into a searing duet. Coco and Alicia are a perfect match on this song, their voices complementing each other and blending beautifully on the harmonies. The veteran Keys fits just like a missing puzzle piece into the foundation that Jones built. Both artists impress and shine equally.
The visual for “Other Side Of Love (Remix)” takes us into the studio with the powerhouse pair for a behind-the-scenes look at them making the song. We see their hug at the beginning, Coco stepping up to the mic and Alicia tickling the ivories amongst the scenes. The intimate black-and-white video captures the duo’s genuine connection and creative energy as they bring the song to life.
Coco Jones delivers a deluxe experience on the Why Not More? (MORE!) deluxe edition. The new songs are excellent, first-class R&B and complete the mission to enhance the overall project. We appreciate that she didn’t keep all this goodness to herself.
