Although we may be in the midst of summer heat, the holidays are only months away. Cable network Lifetime is making sure that we’re ready for what’s to come on their upcoming It’s A Wonderful Lifetime slate of programming, and they’re doing so with the help of a heavy-hitting mother-daughter duo. Superstar singer and actress Brandy will be starring in and executive producing the network’s just-announced Christmas movie Christmas Everyday, which will also mark the acting debut for her beloved daughter Sy’Rai.
The film, named after a song of the same name from Brandy’s 2023 holiday album Christmas With Brandy, will find her playing fashion designer Francine “Fancy” Ballentine. She’s tasked with upholding her family’s holiday traditions in the wake of her father’s death while also helping to plan her sister’s fairytale wedding. In a twist, the role of her bridezilla sister Belle will be played by Sy’Rai. Since this is a holiday flick, hijinks will ensue and a new love for Fancy will be found. Along the way, we’ll meet other members of the cast, including acting legend Debbi Morgan as Fancy and Belle’s mother Evelyn and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman as Fancy’s co-worker Germaine.
Christmas Everyday will be Brandy’s second holiday film. She made her festive flick debut in 2023 in the Netflix comedy Best! Christmas! Ever! co-starring Heather Graham. This new film is Brandy’s second time working on a Lifetime project after previously being cast in the series Drop Dead Diva.
“The holidays are always about family as part of the festivities, so I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Lifetime on this magical holiday project and having my own daughter star with me – even though we are playing sisters!,” Brandy said in a press release. “It’s A Wonderful Lifetime has become such a beloved tradition, and I’m honored to star and executive produce.”
We’re still basking in the glow of summer, but as soon as the weather starts getting cooler, we’ll be on the lookout for this one. Unfortunately, Lifetime hasn’t revealed when we can expect Christmas Everyday to premiere just yet. We suggest that you make arrangements to check your listings twice to make sure that you don’t miss a single moment.
