Josh Levi is in his debut album era. The handsome Houston native is preparing to release his first full-length project entitled HYDRAULIC in July, and he introduces the rollout with the single “DON’T GO.”

The catchy track finds Josh singing about a woman who doesn’t want him to leave her bed. After he puts it down, she wants him to stay put and begs him to stay. “She don’t want the party to end / So she lay back down / ’Cause she know I can do it again,” he boasts.

Levi exudes confidence throughout the track, letting everyone know he’s got this lady on lock. He also captures the listener’s attention with a clever interpolation of fellow Houstonians Destiny’s Child’s classic “No, No, No” on the chorus. “She said, ‘Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t go / Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yet,” he melodically sings, sounding both nostalgic and fresh.

He even shouts out one of the members of DC in the lyrics. “Them other n****s can’t hold her / She likes her kisses down low, Kelly Rowland,” he croons in the second verse, leaning into his lower register while winking at Ms. Kelly.
