The City of Baltimore’s festival season is officially underway. The season kicked off last month with Artscape 2025, which featured several outstanding musical performances. Next on the calendar is the AFRAM 2025 festival, and it promises to be just as exciting. Scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd at Druid Hill Park, AFRAM organizers have booked some impressive talent this year.
Leading the AFRAM 2025 lineup is headliner Patti LaBelle. Now that The Queens Tour is on summer break, the iconic artist known as the Godmother of Soul will put on a show befitting her diva status. Summertime is “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” season, so it’s only right that Amerie has been invited to perform as she stages her comeback. Other R&B acts on the bill include the young lioness Teedra Moses, The Voice alum Vedo and ’90s group Silk.
Hip-hop will also be front and center at AFRAM, with rapper Juvenile on deck to headline one of the days. Juvie will surely set it off when he performs “Back That Azz Up,” and festivalgoers will gleefully drop it like it’s hot when they hear “Cash Money Records, taking over for the ’99 into 2000.” Bay Area baddie Saweetie will pull up to rock the mic, as will British raptress Stefflon Don with her Jamaican dancehall flow.
More than your average music festival, AFRAM is a celebration of Black culture, history and heritage. One of the East Coast’s biggest African American-centric festivals, the annual event coincides with Black Music Month and Juneteenth, and it is a fun, family-friendly and free outdoor function for all to enjoy.
AFRAM is a highlight every June in Baltimore, and this year will be no different. For more information on AFRAM 2025 and to plan your visit, check out the festival’s website.
