We love to see our fam doing big things. And it seems that big things are all that our guy Rob Milton knows how to do. The prolific singer-songwriter is now able to say that he’s written GRAMMY Award-winning songs thanks to his work on Avery*Sunshine’s So Glad To Know You. And he’s riding that high into his own work with the release of his latest single “Honey.”

Like its titular namesake, “Honey” comes on sweet and thick thanks to Rob’s frequent collaborator Dana “Big Dane” Johnson. Big Dane works some magic by pairing bass, guitar and an inventive, percolating drum pattern together. The musical backdrop allows Rob to wax romantic as he takes the time to make a personal plea to the object of his affections.

He’s clearly smitten on the track, with him comparing spending a day with bae to a living, breathing love letter that helps him escape the problems of the world. Specifically, it’s the sweet words and their way with them that keeps Rob weak in the knees.

“Keep that honey on your lips / Honey on your lips / Honey, when you talk to me talk sweet,” Rob croons on the chorus. Featured artist DearJohn echoes his sentiment when he sings, “Keep that honey on your lips / Honey on your lips / Whenever I hear your voice, my heart skips.”

This cut might not be the fast-paced, party-starting jam folks might expect as we get ready to celebrate the unofficial start of summer, but it is a gentle, easy slide into the season that’s sure to stick with us even after the warmth begins to fade.
