Maxwell is going to be a very busy man this year. His The Serenade 2025 Tour is now underway, taking him across the United States and Europe through October, and he’ll be performing at the 2025 ESSENCE Festival Of Culture this July in New Orleans. As if his itinerary wasn’t jam-packed enough, the golden-voiced crooner has now announced a special concert series entitled The Silent Serenade Ensemble that he’s bringing exclusively to the DMV and NYC.
Wedged between his Serenade 2025 Tour dates, The Silent Serenade Ensemble will consist of only four intimate performances this September in the Washington, D.C. area and his hometown of Brooklyn. These two cities are near and dear to Maxwell’s heart and integral to his life and career.
“Brooklyn raised me, D.C. embraced me — and there’s nothing like sharing that kind of love in a more intimate setting,” Maxwell stated in a press release. “These shows are going to feel like home.”
Maxwell will make himself at home and take it back to his Urban Hang Suite and Maxwell: MTV Unplugged days for these concerts. He will treat attendees to a luxurious night of music featuring reimagined arrangements of beloved classics, deep cuts and other surprises. He’ll be accompanied by opening act Yola and a small ensemble of musicians, including a live percussionist and a string quartet. And, of course, Maxwell’s mic will be on.
The Silent Serenade Ensemble is scheduled for September 18th, September 19th and September 20th at The Theater At MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, minutes away from D.C., and September 28th at Brooklyn’s historic Kings Theatre.
Whether you’re a day one Maxwell fan or just discovering his music, you’ll want to experience this rare set of performances from one of the premier voices of his generation. Get your coins and credit cards ready, because tickets to attend The Silent Serenade Ensemble will go on sale on Friday, May 16th at 10 a.m. local time on Maxwell’s Musze website.
