Ciara gave everyone a Sunday surprise this weekend. On May 4th, which was ironically the 10th anniversary of her sixth album Jackie, she had another album on her mind – her next one! Ciara jumped onto her socials to share the cover art for her eighth album CiCi, along with a heartfelt note to her fanbase.
The CiCi album cover is bold and beautiful. Dressed in head-to-toe black – from her straight tresses to her fur boots – Ciara stands confidently in between the letters of the title written in a black Gothic-style font against a blood red background. The color scheme, lettering and Ciara’s outfit are giving fall, but CiCi will arrive on Friday, July 11th, just in time to make this summer even more of a scorcher.
Ciara is excited to begin this new CiCi chapter. “This album right here is my love letter,” she wrote in her lengthy caption everywhere from Instagram to TikTok. “A celebration of the journey — and more importantly, a thank you to you, my Day 1s and Day 21s. You’ve stuck by me through every era, every evolution, and every independent leap of faith...Y’all gave me the courage to keep pushing, to keep dreaming, and to keep dancing like nobody’s watching (even though millions of you are, lol).”
In her statement, the wife, mother, artist and mogul touched on faith, freedom, her fashion statement on CiCi’s cover and what she wants fans to take away from the album. “This project took 5 years to build, and every beat, every lyric, every moment was made with intention — to lift you, to move you, to make you feel something,” she wrote. “Whether it’s a two-step in your kitchen or a soul-stirring scream-sing in the car — I just want to give you all the good feels.”
Ciara is bringing the good feels and good music on CiCi. The LP is an extension of her CiCi EP that dropped in 2023. The 14-track album will feature all seven songs from the EP and seven more, including the singles “Run It Up” featuring BossMan Dlow, “Wassup” with Busta Rhymes and “Ecstasy,” her current slinky slow jam that has people trying to defy gravity with her. The remaining four tracks have yet to be announced, but you can view the partial tracklist below to see the current sequencing.
CiCi is now available to pre-save on music streaming services before it drops in July.
