Tamar Braxton Turns The Tables In ‘You On You’

Tamar Braxton isn’t the one, the two or the three to be played with. The youngest Braxton sibling has made it clear that she doesn’t suffer fools whether it’s on reality television, on social media or in real life. We pity the fool who tries to get over on her, but Tamar knows the game well and turns the tables on a player on her new single “You On You.”

Braxton taps super-producer Tricky Stewart to work his mojo on this track with co-producer Big Korey. The mid-tempo number knocks with programmed drums, icy synths and an interpolation of Suzanne Vega’s classic “Tom’s Diner.” The track has a built-in head-nod factor, and Tamar adds the sugar and spice with her smooth vocals and slick lyrics.

“Did I forget to answer the four times that you called? / And I didn’t say ‘I love you’ before you dropped me off / Didn’t bring you any food when I know you haven’t ate / Wasn’t waiting up for you when I know you’ll get off late,” she sings and gives this man a bitter taste of his own medicine as she does to him what he’s done to her.

Tamar sums it up on the chorus lest he be confused. “I just pulled a you on you (I just pulled a you on you) / I just pulled a you on you (I just pulled a you on you) / This is what you put me through (this is what you put me through) / I just pulled a you on you (I just pulled a you on you),” she sweetly sings and delivers her gut punch.

We fear that Tamar Braxton may have a hit on her hands with “You On You.” This relatable song and her 2024 single “Notice Me” will be included on her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled EP dropping this summer. Expect to hear both songs and many others from Tamar’s catalog performed live on her co-headlining tour with October London, The October Nights: Calling All Lovers Tour. The tour kicked off this month and will run through the end of May.

Scoop your concert tickets up if you haven’t already, but not before you listen to “You On You” and peep its lyric video right here.
