When Naomi Sharon dropped her single “Can We Do This Over” in March, we had a hunch that it was the first listen of a new project. She proves us right with the release of her latest single “The Only Love We Know,” which serves as the title track from her forthcoming EP set to land in May.
On “The Only Love We Know,” Naomi’s lyricism puts us in an existential mood. “Tell me where we go from here / If all we know is fear / If it’s the end that’s near,” she ponders. The singer-songwriter may not have the answers, but she shares two things she knows for sure on the chorus: “That’s the way the story goes / That’s the only love we know.”
Sharon’s The Only Love We Know EP will be executive produced by Jordan Ullman of Majid Jordan and she’s bringing a new feel and mindset to the release. The collection will focus on “self-love and independence” according to Naomi with a sound influenced by the legendary Buddha-Bar compilations and her father’s love for their deep house and ambient blends.
“Buddha-Bar curates a unique blend of world music and electronic sounds that create a distinct atmosphere. That aesthetic and vibe have now been translated into this EP,” Naomi shared via press release about her next set. “It carries a certain allure, a style that feels both relaxed and sophisticated. That sense of maturity and refinement is also reflected in this EP.”
