Jane Handcock is still on the rise and making the case for why she belongs at the top. The talented singer-songwriter has been on her grind since dropping her 2023 album World Of Women, led by the sultry single “Layin Next To Me.” We meet up with her again for her latest single “Stingy.”

Jane links with veteran producer Soopafly for the cut. He gives her a sound bed of languid guitar and shuffling drums that gives the song an almost woozy feeling. That’s fitting, as the song is all about the singer being lost in the sauce as she unexpectedly catches feelings for her friend with special benefits.

She is caught up from the song’s very beginning. The verses act as a confessional as she admits her feelings and asks her homie-lover-friend for clarity about what’s going on between them. She can’t really hide her feelings, though, as she makes a pretty direct demand on the chorus.

“Save all your love for me / Look what you did to me / You made me stingy,” she sings. “Save all your love for me / Locked in, throw away the key / I just want you all for me.”

“I wrote ‘Stingy’ about parlaying with my sneaky link but actually realizing I caught real feelings for him,” she said of the track’s inspiration in a press release. “Now, I wanna be stingy & keep him all to myself.”

We understand how the singer is feeling, as we would love to keep Jane Handcock all to ourselves. Alas, a talent like hers deserves to be shared the world over, and we must allow her to reach the masses. Go ahead and listen to what’s sure to be an entry on your next bedroom playlist when you check out “Stingy” right here. And be sure to stick around for the song’s visualizer, which finds Jane effortlessly performing the track while at a local nail salon.
