Our girl Jade Novah has been a busy woman. Right now, the singer-songwriter is set to make a comedic turn in Tyler Perry’s upcoming Netflix comedy Tyler Perry’s She The People this May alongside TV veterans Terri J. Vaughn and Jo Marie Payton. But she’s not just coming to our screens. She’s also going to be in our ears thanks to the release of her new single “90’s Fine.”

Jade, who last showcased her musical gifts with last year’s album Where Have I Been?, turns to her husband Devin Johnson for production duty once again for the song. He supplies her with a gorgeous mid-tempo cut that oozes romance. Aiding in that are beautiful keys, strings and subtle synth flourishes that create a dreamy backdrop for the singer’s honeyed vocals.

She uses them to paint a picture of love that has the throwback feel of everyone’s favorite decade. The lyrics find Jade asking for something realer than all the artifice that people are interested in these days. “Give me your love with no filter / Tell me the truth with no filler / Give me a love that won’t change up,” she sings on the chorus. “I just want the real / Make me feel ’90s fine.”

With everyone on a ’90s nostalgia kick and looking for a love that’s real, “90’s Fine” is right on time. And, of course, it’s always nice to hear the gorgeous stylings of Jade Novah. Give the song a spin when you listen to its stream and peep its cute lyric video right here. And then stick around to watch the trailer for Tyler Perry’s She The People, which will arrive on Netflix on May 22nd.
