Coco Jones has a lot to celebrate right now. The R&B It girl has been grinding for quite some time, and now the fruit of that labor has been delivered with the release of Why Not More?, the singer’s major label debut. The set has been the talk of mainstream R&B circles since its arrivals, and Coco is determined to make sure everyone listens as she hits the promo trail. To that effect, she’s also dropped the visual for the album’s sexy slow jam “On Sight.”
Though the song is very serious about its sensuality, Coco shows a more playful side in the video. It begins with the singer and a friend settling down at a picnic table during a cookout. Coco’s not as interested in what’s on the grill as much as she is the devastatingly handsome grill master, though. After a bit of courage from her delusional bestie, she proceeds to make a plum fool of herself to get his attention. She resigns to being the girl who doesn’t get the guy in the movies when her clownery doesn’t work. That’s when her friend reminds her that this is, in fact, a movie.
That revelation shifts the tone and the color scale as things change to a more serious black-and-white aesthetic. This is where we see that the singer has her eye on a key grip behind the scenes. She wastes no time making her intentions known as he lights her perfectly from every angle. It’s no wonder, then, when he immediately follows after she beckons him to a private meeting off set.
“On Sight” is already a fan favorite from Why Not More?, though there are plenty more jams where that came from. You can listen to the full album stream below after you allow Coco Jones to seduce you in “On Sight.”
