Lizzo is still that girl and the award-winning singer-songwriter isn’t going to let you forget it. She’s already made a successful arrival on the comeback trail with her well-received single “Love In Real Life.” Now she’s wasting no time in bringing us more with the release of her second single of 2025, “Still Bad.”
“Still Bad” is yet another anthem for the ladies, which Lizzo seems to have a penchant for crafting. She once again looks to her frequent collaborators Ricky Reed and Blake Slatkin to provide her with a disco-pop bop as she prepares to dance her blues away.
The song tells a story not unfamiliar to Lizzo fans. The singer intimates that she’s recovering from a pretty rough breakup. However, rather than wallow in her feelings, she’s ready to cut loose and revel in her freedom while saying goodbye to a man who wasted her time.
“I don’t need him, I need a drink / Let’s turn this pain into some champagne, baby / Like cheers, b***h, it’s been a day / Might take that last flight out to Vegas, what y’all think? (Okay),” she sings on the infectious chorus. “I don’t need him, I need a drink / I don’t know why life is so f**ked up lately / But after everything / I’m still surviving and I’m still bad, baby.”
The song’s video picks up right where “Love In Real Life” left off. Lizoo lies on the hood of a white car as people walk around her without taking notice. One passerby shakes things up, though, when she tosses a bucket of what looks to be blood in the singer’s general direction. That takes us into another realm where a svelte and happy Lizzo parties with silver painted monsters while rocking a red latex jumpsuit. With the white car now engulfed in flames behind her, the singer makes sure that we know that she has no worries as she moves on to the next.
If “Still Bad” and “Love In Real Life” are any indication, then Lizzo’s new era is going to be just as successful as her last. Get into “Still Bad” and its slick music video when you head below.
