Jordan Rakei brought us more of his unique musical vision when he released his fifth album The Loop last spring. The set was further proof of the quiet staying power that the singer-songwriter has, with songs like “Freedom” leading the pack. Now he’s on the brink of releasing a deluxe version of the album that will include new songs recorded during his recent residency at the famed Abbey Road Studios. One such song is his latest single “The Seize.”
“The Seize” is Jordan dipping deep into his singer-songwriter bag. He lays down a haunting acoustic guitar melody to accompany himself as he muses about his art and the journey he's experienced thus far in his career. The track speaks to the highs and the lows of a life spent in service of the arts in the poetic voice that only he possesses.
The chorus coalesces the singer’s thought process and serves as a statement about his love of the craft. “Oooh, every time the pressurе builds / Every time they watch you burn / Givеs a whole new meaning to / Anything you ever feel / Take it as a lesson learned,” he sings. “All the things are what you want / Take a hold of everything you want.”
“The Seize” will be one of three brand-new original tracks featured on The Loop (Deluxe Edition) alongside live renditions of “Friend Or Foe,” “Hopes And Dreams” and “Trust” from a concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. You can get your hands on the album and all 19 of its tracks when the set releases on Friday, April 4th.
