Ledisi is starting 2025 off on the right note. After dropping her 11th album Good Life less than a year ago to rave reviews from fans and critics alike, the songstress is back with even more music. Right on time for Valentine’s Day, Ledisi sings about an unwavering love in her brand-new single “Love You Too.”
For “Love You Too,” the “Alright” singer is back in the booth with her friend and favorite producer Rex Rideout. The connection between these collaborators is solid as a rock just like the loving relationship that Ledisi sings about. She sings directly to her significant other and makes it clear that she is committed to their commitment.
“When you love me like this, I just can’t walk away / Lovin’ you gets stronger in every way / Sometimes we’re goin’ through changes / But we gon’ stay together, baby,” Led states in the first verse, acknowledging their challenges but admitting she’s in this thing for the long haul.
She continues her poetic love letter, singing, “We get better with time / Nothing’s ever good, nothing’s ever easy / But you’re always there / ’Cause you always love me, I’ll always love you, too / I want a love to last, last forever.” Ledisi ensures she’s not going anywhere, and from the sound of it neither is her partner.
Although “Love You Too” centers on a relationship, the focus is solely on Ledisi in the track’s video. Directed by her husband of six years Ron T. Young, we see her through his loving lens. Led delivers ageless beauty and fierce looks in a trio of all-black ensembles shot in a few interior locations throughout the chill clip.
Starting the year with some new Ledisi is music to our ears, but she’s just getting started. Ledisi is slated to sing the Black national anthem during the pregame ceremony at Super Bowl LIX this weekend. We fully expect the New Orleans native to deliver a stunning rendition of “Lift Every Voice And Sing” in her hometown. While we anxiously await her performance, sample “Love You Too” and watch its video right here.
