Chxrry22 is having a moment. The rising singer recently scored a feature on The Weeknd’s recent No. 1 album Hurry Up Tomorrow, and she’s gearing up to hit the road with British girl group FLO on their upcoming Access All Areas North American Tour. With a fruitful year ahead of her, she prepares us for what’s next with her newest single “Just Like Me.”
The song’s groove, provided by producer Believve, revolves around a sweet synth guitar sample that keeps things bright. Despite that sound, Chxrry isn’t interested in giving us the same story we’ve come to expect. Instead, she lets it be known that she’s down to do her own dirt on the low while her man thinks he might be the only one.
“I look to keep it clean, white tee (White tee) / But I like to do my dirt low key (Low key) / He think that I don’t know I’m not the only one/ You know I like ’em just like me (Just like me),” she sings on the song’s chorus.
For the “Just Like Me” visuals, Chxrry22 shirks doing the obvious. She opts to, instead, gather her homegirls to hit faux ski slopes while pretending to be snow bunnies. The video doesn’t really expand beyond that concept, but it does offer up more ’fits for the ladies to prance around in. Chxrry gets the lion’s share in that department as she shows off a few outfits that we’re sure are being held on by double-sided tape and a prayer.
“Just Like Me” is another bop from Chxrry22, and we suspect that she won’t keep us waiting too long for her next one. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Enjoy the song’s stream and video when you press play below.
