One of the best things to come out of the pandemic was Club Quarantine, D-Nice’s uber-popular DJ sessions on Instagram Live that connected a global community of music lovers and served as a lifeline during those uncertain times. Club Quarantine’s online movement has since evolved into IRL events in recent years. This year marks the fifth anniversary of CQ, and D-Nice kicked the festivities off this New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles and will continue this weekend in Washington, D.C. with Club Quarantine Live at the Kennedy Center.
Scheduled for Saturday, January 11th in the venue’s world-famous Concert Hall, D-Nice will rock the house joined by a handful of the artists whose music he’s played over the past five years in CQ. Soul brother Anthony Hamilton will be there as well as R&B songstress Tweet, neo-soul goddess Goapele and the R&B General himself Tank, who is destined to take his shirt off at some point in the show. On the hip-hop tip, D-Nice has invited some heavyweights including icons Rakim and Big Daddy Kane, GRAMMY Award-winning group Arrested Development and fiery femcee Rapsody. Rounding out the lineup will be D’s longtime friend Kenny Burns who’ll be the evening’s host and hypeman.
This edition of Club Quarantine Live will be D-Nice’s third time bringing CQ to the Kennedy Center. He made history during his debut appearance in 2022 as the first rapper and DJ to perform in the Opera House and followed that up in 2023 with a three-day residency that showcased music, comedy and culture.
D-Nice’s highly-anticipated return to the Kennedy Center has CQ devotees so excited that tickets to Saturday night’s big event are currently sold out. More tickets may be released before then, so keep an eye on the KenCen website. If you don’t get a chance to attend this function, the good news is that more Club Quarantine Live celebrations are on the horizon in 2025.
