2025 will be a literary one for music lovers. That’s because many icons, including Lionel Richie, Tina Knowles and Cher (who is set to release the second half of her critically acclaimed memoir in November), are penning chronicles of their lives and times. You can now add pop/R&B sensation Brandy to that number as the star has announced that she, too, will be putting her life on the page with her upcoming memoir.

The as-yet-untitled book will chronicle Brandy’s life from her humble beginnings in Mississippi to the many heights she reached over the more than three decades she’s spent in the limelight. But, of course, with the highs also come the many controversies, struggles and the darker side of fame that the entertainer has had to deal with along her rise.

While announcing the upcoming book on Instagram, the star wrote, “Writing my memoir was one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. I allowed myself the space to be fearless and vulnerable to reveal some of my most intimate moments. For the first time, I am sharing my story–honest, unfiltered and not through the lens of media or critics.”

The memoir is sure to be a moment of catharsis for Brandy, but she also hopes it will inspire. “This memoir is the result of countless hours of reflection, work and healing,” she said in an exclusive statement to People. “I hope readers will find comfort and inspiration in these pages.”

Brandy’s memoir is set to arrive on October 7th via Hanover Square Press and is available for pre-order now. We’re positive that we’ll be hearing a lot more — including the book’s eventual title — from B-Rocka as that release date draws near.
