Tiana Major9 has returned to their roots as an independent artist. After being signed to Motown Records and releasing the projects At Sixes And Sevens, Back At Sixes And Sevens, Major Mantras, At Sixes And Sevens Remixed and Fool Me Once, the singer-songwriter is back in the driver’s seat. For their first solo release in two years, Tiana pulls up with a new look and the new single “alone.”
This song finds the artist coming to terms with the fact that a relationship is over. Despite nursing a bruised heart and ego, there are no more tears or patience left for a partner who just won’t do right. TM9 realizes that they can do better by themselves and sends their toxic ex to the left, to the left.
“Love don’t live here no more, no more / I think I’m better off alone / Can’t turn this house into a home / I think I’m better off alone,” Tiana sings with resolve on the chorus, no longer delusional about what it is and what it ain’t on this bittersweet goodbye.
Recorded during the global pandemic lockdown, the “Collide” singer tapped into the real-life experience of isolation. “‘alone’ is such a vulnerable offering to the world, through the lyrics, my vocal performance,” Tiana said in a press statement. “It feels like a re-introduction to Tiana Major9 and an exclusive look into the world of TM9.”
Tiana Major9 will continue to welcome old fans and new followers into their world in 2025 and beyond. The single “alone” is just the beginning of the next phase of their career with the promise of more music on the horizon. Listen below, and add the song to your playlists on digital music platforms.
