Jon B fans have a lot to look forward to in 2025. His long-awaited new project Waiting On You is finally slated for release after it got pushed back from earlier this year. The collection has undergone some changes, but one thing that’s remained the same is Jon’s commitment to creating R&B that touches hearts and souls. He did it on Waiting On You’s lead single, his sultry duet with Tank on the title cut, and he’s back with more on the second single “NATURAL DRUG.”
Jon’s “NATURAL DRUG” of choice is his lady, and he’s downright addicted to her. Over an intoxicating sound bed, he lets her know what type of time he’s on. “Cause you dealing with the real thing / You know when you get that feeling / Have you head over heels to the ceiling / High off a natural drug,” he softly croons his firm message on the hook. In case she has any doubts about his feelings, he makes it clear with the lyric, “Oh, you know you are my drug.”
“There is no aphrodisiac like the natural drug a woman is,” Jon B stated in a press release. “Through her love, inspiration naturally flows to me. She is why I dig so deep in my creativity, searching for the gems that reflect her brilliance.”
He gets in his creative bag in the visual for “NATURAL DRUG.” The video showcases Surrealist imagery in outdoor scenes with melting clocks on tree branches in the style of artist Salvador Dalí and a door just out there in nature that leads to another location. Model and Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey plays Jon’s love interest and is herself a work of art as she strikes poses and serves face. Their paths don’t cross until later in the clip when they come together to cool relax in an exotically decorated space before slipping away to continue their night away from the camera.
Expect Jon B to deliver more quality R&B like this on his upcoming LP. There’s no official release date yet, but as previously reported, in addition to Tank, Waiting On You will feature collabs with Donell Jones, Rick Ross and Alex Isley. While we await more details, take a hit of Jon B’s “NATURAL DRUG” right here.
