Tems has spent the past few months wowing audiences on her Born In The Wild World Tour. While her travels have taken her to numerous countries to perform, she found time to slip away to Jamaica for a little work and play. The Nigerian beauty chose the island as the backdrop for the visual to the song “Turn Me Up.”
Filmed on location in Kingston, director Loris Russier captures Tems catching a vibe amongst the locals as she alternates between singing and rapping on the thumping cut. She is the center of attention whether holding court in a tenement yard, chilling outside of a corner shop or at a dancehall dancing atop huge speakers painted in the colors of the Jamaican flag.
“Turn Me Up” is the latest track from Born In The Wild to get a music video, and we suspect that she has more visuals to come. Tems has been heavily promoting the release all year, and her campaign isn’t slowing down with the LP recently nominated for Best Global Music Album at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards. She’s also snagged noms for Best African Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe” and Best R&B Song for “Burning.” We’ll have to wait until next February to see if Tems leaves the GRAMMY Awards with something, but you don’t have to wait to watch “Turn Me Up,” which you can do right now right here.
