Few artists have had a better year than FLO and GloRilla. The It Girls of R&B and the It Girl of Rap have had R&B lovers and hip-hop heads alike in chokeholds all 2024. The two acts are movements on their own, but FLO and Big Glo are a force together as they collaborate on the track “In My Bag,” the latest single from FLO’s recently released debut album Access All Areas.
“In My Bag” is FLO at their most confident. Group members Stella Quaresma, Renee Downer and Jorja Douglas take turns singing lyrics dripping with swag about the good life that they’ve manifested. They know they’ve got the sauce and want to ensure you know it, too.
“When you see me, know I’m in my bag (in my bag) / My whip (in my bag) / My drip (in my bag) / I be on my s**t (in my bag) / Don’t slip (in my bag) / That b***h (in my bag),” the trio harmonizes on the chorus that is a guaranteed earworm. They may sound boastful, but it ain’t bragging if it’s true.
GloRilla kicks in the door on the bridge with her Memphis drawl. Her bars are neither demure nor modest as she joins the girls to pop her ish on this newest anthem for the baddies.
We follow the baddies of FLO in the visual for “In My Bag.” It begins with Renee, Jorja and Stella pulling up somewhere in Atlanta in a stretch SUV limo with the city’s skyline in the distance. They’re transported to a masquerade party where they make a grand entrance and quickly enact their plan to rob partygoers. They smoothly steal a necklace here, a wallet there and a set of mystery keys before they break out into some slick choreography courtesy of Sean Bankhead.
While they distract everyone with their dance routine, GloRilla pops up in another area of the building. She finds where a safe is hidden and gets it ready for Jorja, Stella and Renee to come through to unlock it. Once they access its contents and get what they came for, they giddily return to the limo to make their getaway – but not before a surprise plot twist is revealed at the end.
