Beyoncé Is Set to Gift Us With An NFL Halftime Show Performance On Netflix This Christmas

What’s on your Christmas wish list? If it happens to be a Beyoncé performance, then you’re in luck. The COWBOY CARTER chart-topper, who shut down New Orleans as the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show headliner way back in 2013 (and then again as a featured guest at Super Bowl 50 in 2016), will dazzle during halftime once again. No, she’s not stealing Kendrick Lamar's shine at next year’s big game. Instead, she will bring some star power to the Christmas Day matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans in her native Houston, which is set to air live on Netflix.

Bey herself announced the event by posting a 30-second promo to her socials that featured a cappella vocals from her song “AMERIICAN REQUIEM.” The clip opens with the camera panning around a rose-covered muscle car before swinging around to the front to reveal its bull horn-adorned grille. The camera then pans upward to reveal Bey — in all her red, white and blue country glamour and glory — perched on its hood. The singer then catches a football and the camera zooms in on her face before things fade to red and the details of the halftime show and game are displayed on the screen.

This news, of course, has sent the Beyhive into a tizzy. Some are even saying that the surprise-loving singer might even use the occasion to announce a tour in support of COWBOY CARTER on a scale to match 2023's RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. But that’s just speculation at the moment.

What we do know for sure is that we have a little over a month to gear up for what is sure to be an impressive spectacle (if the livestream doesn’t freeze up like it did for last week’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul match, that is). Be sure to pay that Netflix subscription, and then tune in to the streamer at 4:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 25th to see what surprises Beyoncé has in store for us.
