Zyah Belle is back and has a few things to get off her chest. The singer-songwriter doesn’t hold her tongue or mince words about a lying liar who lies on her brand-new single “LYIN.” The liar in question here is an ex, and she’s fresh out of damns to give about him.
Belle describes “LYIN” as an “R&B clapback,” and she’s hitting hard with her lyrics. “You’s a lyin a** n***a, you’s a lie / You’s a tryin a** n***a, boy you tried me,” she sings on the catchy hook. She goes in on him throughout the track and lets him know he messed over the wrong one. She says what needs to be said on the second verse, singing, “You done met your match with me / The wrong one to sleep on, the wrong one to creep on / The wrong one to cheat on, the wrong one to / Uh, yeah.”
“LYIN” is co-written by Zyah, Mack Keane, ESTA. and Blake Straus. The three gentlemen also share co-production credit on the laid-back, bass-heavy track that allows her to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.
According to Belle, this song is “for anyone who's ever had their heart broken.” For all those who can relate, she wants them to flip the script. “It’s all about turning pain into power and letting your ex know you’re done with their lies!” she says.
Thankfully, Zyah isn't singing this tune in her real love life. She is newly engaged to her longtime beau, rapper Covi., and our girl has a whole wedding to plan.
In other exciting news, Rihanna is a Zyah Belle fan! RiRi slid in her DMs and encouraged her to release “LYIN” when Zyah first posted a snippet of the track on Instagram while she was traveling in Paris this summer. Rihanna told her that she couldn’t wait to put the track “on da repeat.”
