Muni Long is on a mission to make R&B great again. She is certainly doing her part by making great R&B as heard on her critically acclaimed new album Revenge. Released in August, the strong project was bolstered by singles “Made For Me,” “Make Me Forget” and “Ruined Me.” With back-to-back-to-back hits, the GRAMMY Award-winning songstress hasn’t stopped promoting Revenge, and she’s now shared an intimate performance of “Ruined Me” that she did for Amazon Music City Sessions.
As expected, Muni’s vocals were flawless and her mic was on for this session recorded in front of an audience seated close enough to touch her. The small nightclub setting lit by candlelight was the antithesis of her opening for Chris Brown on his arena tour. Still, she approached this performance with equal intensity as she sang the dramatic heartsick ballad.
Shot on location in Los Angeles, Long’s City Sessions episode was originally broadcast live on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel and included an audience Q&A session. We hope that Muni and Amazon Music decide to share more recordings from her set because it looks like she put on quite an exciting show.
