It hasn’t been a full year since Majid Jordan blessed us with their album Good People last November. The set, which contained the Naomi Sharon-featuring “Waiting For You,” kept up the vibes for which the Canadian duo has become known. But it seems the fellas couldn’t stay away for too long, as they’ve already released a brand-new single, “Life 2.”

For “Life 2,” the group mines the ’80s once again, though this time they go for a more upbeat sound. Jordan Ullman, the producer half of the group, hits us with the constant thump of kick drum while layering on chilled-out synthesizer, keys and bass to keep the party moving.

Meanwhile, singer Majid Al-Maskati once again delivers as he tells the story of a game of romantic cat and mouse he and his love interest are playing. “Too much on your plate, what else can I say / We go in circles every time,” he sings at one point. “My place is your place / You ride my, you ride my wave.”

It seems that Majid Jordan might indeed have a bop on their hands. But could it signify that the fellas have something new on the horizon? Unfortunately, there seems to be little information on that front. But you can still turn “Life 2” all the way up when you listen to its stream and watch its visualizer below.
