It’s game time for Ashanti. The new mommy enjoyed a night out in NYC with her husband Nelly at Game 4 of the 2024 World Series to see the New York Yankees play the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ashanti wasn’t just there to cheer on the home team, though. She also rocked the mic and sang the National Anthem in her first postpartum performance.
Wearing a Yankees tee, cropped faux fur coat and skinny jeans, Ashanti’s snapback was visible, and when she opened her mouth to sing, it was audible, too. Her bedazzled mic was on as she belted out the National Anthem in Yankee Stadium to a worldwide audience of millions. The native New Yorker brought her sugar, spice and everything nice to this live rendition and delivered an incredible vocal from start to her big finish.
Perhaps Ashanti’s exciting National Anthem performance energized the New York Yankees for Game 4. The team went on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers and save themselves from being swept in the series.
